About Altrusa

State College, PA, United States
We make our communities better through leadership, partnership and service. That is our goal. Founded in 1917, Altrusa is relevant to many civic-minded people who are interested in creating better communities. Last year, Altrusans proudly gave over a million volunteer hours around the world, including clubs in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, England, Bermuda, Ireland, India, Scotland, New Zealand and Russia. Several decades ago, Altrusa decided to institute literacy as an area of focus for the organization; since then, service areas have expanded to include HIV/AIDS and disaster relief. During our last biennium, Altrusans assisted in relief efforts for the Port-au-Prince, Haiti and Christchurch, New Zealand earthquakes, as well as the Tsunami in Japan. Most importantly, Altrusans give their time and resources in areas that are deemed most important in their local communities. The Altrusa story is evolving every day through club accomplishments. When you visit any Altrusa club, you will see leadership and service in action.

Dear Ladies,

I hope this wonderful weather suits you well and you can enjoy it with your loved ones!

In the month of October, a beautiful Autumn season, on 23rd, Sunday, from 5:00pm to 8:30pm is the UN dinner event. I believe you all heard something about it, and perhaps have intention to be there.

Altrusa International of Center County is in need to organize a 'Table presentation' for the attending guests, with obvious goal to rise as much interest as possible.

I was in great hope to be able to find a few open minds who would be willing to help with their suggestions, experience and eyes for nice and suitable presentation of our club; What Altrusa stands for; what Altrusans do, and most of all: why we care for our community.

I know you are ALL very busy(!) and I have no intention to take too much of your precious free time. I am in process of collecting materials for the table. When I have it... I would like to invite you to my house and share with you: thoughts, ideas, design arrangements, etc., and we would vote for the best looking one... while having tea or coffee & cakes.

Date of our meeting is still open, and that with reason. I am opening this invitation to ALL our club members. Perhaps there are more interested ladies in our club who might like to share their ideas... you never know :).

Have a most wonderful evening,
I hope to see you all tonight!
